Jute empowers women
Jute fiber production is often connected to poverty reduction, ethical standards and self empowerment in some of the poorest countries in the world like Bangladesh where majority of the good quality jute grows. Out of about 160 mln population, one third are somehow involved in the entire value chain. And there is substantial amount of poor women are also involved in this jute value chain for earning their livelihood. But there are women who do not have any income so they are making their fate out of jute. Now employing them in a good environment and giving them hope to live are also connected with Jute. So in a words, Jute empowers women.
